I received this e-mail from Rick Zaino on October 18, 2012:
“Bob, got an e-mail from Judy Siver about our Veterans from Hackensack. Guess I have to add myself and if possible, my father from World War II.
Rick Zaino class of 1962, attended Rutgers ROTC and graduated in 1966 as a 2nd Lt. Airborne School at Ft. Benning. Assigned to the101 Airborne in
Ft. Campbell Kentucky. Went to VN (Vietnam) as a Lt. from June 1967 to
June 1968 and was there during TET, and then an early out when returned
stateside from Nam.
My father, Francis A. Zaino (nicknamed "Babe" by Carl Padovano, a close family friend), served in World War II as an Army enlisted man and was in
Aircraft Maintenance in Gander, New Foundland. I think it was 1943 to 1945, since I was born in 1946. I can try to find more.
Congrats on your good work.
Best Regards, Rick Zaino
